this privacy policy applies to the tallie mobile application ("application"), developed by tallie team ("service provider"), offered as a freemium service. tallie is dedicated to securely tracking and visualizing baby height and growth data. by using the application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

information collection and use

the application collects information necessary to provide the baby height tracking service, including both user-provided and automatically collected data:

user-provided data (growth data)

sensitive data notice: tallie collects personal health and growth data related to your children. this data is kept strictly confidential and secure. we do not share this data with third parties for marketing purposes.

baby profile information: name (optional), date of birth, gender, and profile photo (optional).
height measurements: dates, recorded height (e.g., in cm or inches), and age at measurement.
account information: email address (for account management, cloud sync, and support).
preferences: measurement unit preference (cm/in), theme choice, and notification settings.

automatically collected data (usage data)

your device's ip address
the screens and features visited within the app (e.g., how often you view the chart)
time and date of your usage
operating system of your mobile device
app settings and customization choices
analytics data for app improvement (anonymized)
error logs and performance data (to fix crashes)
cloud sync status and frequency

how we use your data

the data collected is used solely to provide and improve the tallie service:

to display personalized growth charts and statistics for your baby.
to calculate growth rate and predict future height milestones.
to sync height records and baby profiles across your devices (pro users).
to send notifications regarding scheduled measurements or new features (if enabled).
to improve app performance, troubleshoot issues, and enhance the user experience.
to provide customer support and manage your pro subscription.

data storage and security

security measures

we take your privacy seriously and use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including:

encryption of growth data during transmission and storage (e.g., iCloud, protected servers).
secure local storage for all height records and baby profiles.
limited access to any transmitted data by authorized personnel only.

cloud sync (tallie pro feature)

data backup: tallie pro users can enable cloud sync to backup growth records and baby profiles. this data is stored securely using the native cloud service of your device (e.g., iCloud or Google Drive).

data retention and deletion

we retain user-provided growth data as long as your account is active to ensure continuous tracking. specific retention periods:

baby profiles & height records: retained until you actively delete the profile or request account deletion.
cloud backup data: retained while you have an active pro subscription and cloud sync is enabled.
usage analytics: anonymized data retained for up to 2 years for service improvement.
account information: retained for subscription management and support purposes.

data deletion request

you may request deletion of your data at any time by:

deleting baby profiles directly within the app.
uninstalling the application (deletes local data).
contacting us to request full account and server-side data deletion (for cloud sync data).

children's privacy

tallie is designed for parents and guardians. we do not knowingly market to or solicit data directly from children under the age of 13. all data related to a child is provided by the parent or legal guardian. if we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it immediately.

what we don't collect

sensitive privacy points

we do not access your device's microphone or camera (beyond the optional profile picture functionality).
we do not track your location.
we do not share your baby's height data with third parties for marketing.
we do not access your contacts, photos, or other personal files.

international data transfers

your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, depending on your cloud provider (e.g., Apple/Google). we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your personal information in accordance with this privacy policy.

changes to this policy

we may update this policy from time to time. any changes will be posted on this page and, if significant, we will notify you through the app or via email. continued use of the application indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
